Friday is an important day for Penn State fans, as Top 100 prospect Liam Andrews is set to announce his commitment later this morning at 11 a.m. ET. On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Nittany Lion as a heavy favorite, giving Penn State a 93 percent chance of earning his commitment.

But Andrews isn’t the only recruit that Nittany Lion fans need to keep an eye on. We’ll detail that and much more in our Friday newsstand.

Penn State Tweets of the Day

If all goes to plan for James Franklin and defensive line coach Deion Barnes, Andrews won’t be the only commitment Penn State earns this weekend. Miami Central defensive tackle T.A. Cunningham has also confirmed that he’ll end his recruitment this weekend, with an announcement set for Saturday and 1:30 p.m. ET.

Now, fans will have a place to watch that commitment, as On3’s Josh Newberg confirmed Thursday that Cunningham is set to announce his decision live on On3’s YouTube channel.

We’re also getting close to the season starting, as Penn State’s season opener against West Virginia is now just 42 days away. That Sept. 2 showdown will be broadcasted on NBC at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Yesterday we learned that NBC will originate its studio show, B1G College Countdown, from Beaver Stadium that day. The show will start 30 minutes before kickoff and be hosted by Maria Taylor. It’ll also feature a panal of analysts, one of whom is former Penn State quarterback Michael Robinson. He’ll team up with former Ohio State linebacker Joshua Perry and USC quarterback Matt Cassel each week. The show will also provide pre-game and halftime content for most of NBC Sports’ college football afternoon games throughout the season on NBC and Peacock.

Quote of the Day

“I love their emphasis on winning the Big 10 and a national championship. They finished seventh last season and I feel like they’re just a couple steps away for making a run for a national championship. I also love their defensive scheme and how it caters to my athletic and aggressive play style. Finally, I have begun to develop a good bond with Coach [Deion] Barnes and think he is a great man and coach.”
