Penn State fans are less than 48 hours away from learning the first of two important commitments for the Nittany Lions. As On3’s Chad Simmons confirmed earlier this week, top 100 prospect Liam Andrews will be the first of those players to decide, setting a commitment date for Friday, July 21. Now, Andrews confirmed this afternoon that his decision will take place at 11 a.m. ET.

“I love their emphasis on winning the Big 10 and a national championship,” Andrews said on Monday when asked what stands out about Penn State. “They finished seventh last season and I feel like they’re just a couple steps away for making a run for a national championship. I also love their defensive scheme and how it caters to my athletic and aggressive play style. Finally, I have begun to develop a good bond with Coach [Deion] Barnes and think he is a great man and coach.”

Recruiting: Four-star linebacker confirms he’ll visit Penn State next week

But he wasn’t the only player to confirm a time on Wednesday. Just minutes after Andrews announced his time, four-star defensive tackle T.A. Cunningham also informed fans that his decision, which was already expected to take place on Saturday, July 22, will come at 1:30 p.m. ET.

Listed at 6-foot-6, 275 pounds, Cunningham dropped a top five of Penn State, Oklahoma, Miami, Texas A&M and Michigan last Friday. He took just one official visit in June to State College, leaving many to believe that the Nittany Lions are the team to beat.

“Penn State is definitely the place to become a great football player but also a better man. Coach Franklin and Coach [Deion] Barnes believe in me in a special type of way,” Cunningham said.

Andrews was been one of the more quiet players in this recruiting class. Not only has he been quiet with the media, but he’s also made it clear to coaches and recruiting staff members that everyday communication isn’t going to win him over. Although Wisconsin is part of his top three, it’s believed that South Carolina is Penn State’s true competitor here.

Cunningham’s recruitment took him all over the country. According to On3’s Visit Center, Cunningham has visited 25 different schools since the 2021 season. He also played at high schools in both California and Georgia before ultimately transferring again to Miami Central in Florida for his final season.
