Penn State locks in official visit with four-star linebacker Ta'Mere Robinson
Penn State locked in an official visit with one of its most important prospects Saturday evening in Pittsburgh native Ta’Mere Robinson.
A 6-foot-3, 225-pound linebacker prospect, Robinson not only ranks among the best players in Pennsylvania, but also one of the top linebackers in the country. The On3 Consensus ranks him No. 121 nationally, No. 8 at the linebacker position and No. 3 in Pennsylvania. He’s one of the staff’s top overall prospects, which is why the news of him locking up an official visit for June 17-19 is massive for the staff.
Of course, Robinson has been regularly visiting Penn State over the past year. Since June 2021, he’s taken seven trips to State College, most recently for the Blue-White Game last weekend.
“I really wanted to see Coach Manny coach live for the first time, working with the linebackers. That was all pretty cool,” Robinson said in an interview last Sunday. “I didn’t get to stay too long because we had to leave kind of early, but I definitely saw what I wanted to see. I mainly went to talk with the coaches and catch up with them, plus see Manny work with the guys.”

Robinson added, “I mainly wanted to see if he would change up how the defense was ran and stuff like that. Was he going to keep the same defense as Coach Pry? Or was he going to change it up? I mainly just saw the same thing, but maybe even a little more aggressive.”

In addition to Penn State, Robinson took unofficial visits to Miami and West Virginia this spring. Here’s already locked up one official visit to West Virginia for June 3-5.
“Official visits are probably next. I don’t have anything else planned as of right now, but I know for sure I’m going to go to Miami for an official,” Robinson said last week. “I have my official set for West Virginia, too. Other than that, I want to go to Michigan. Michigan, Miami, Penn State and West Virginia are probably going to be four of them. I’m not sure for the other one yet.”
In addition to the schools mentioned, Robinson has also earned offers from Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M and USC, among many others.
