Penn State fills a hole in the Class of 2023
There’s no better place to start the show than with Tuesday’s news that Penn State added another defensive end to the Class of 2023. Former Northwestern commit Mason Robinson announced he was joining the Nittany Lions Tuesday afternoon. T-Frank and Fitz discuss his recruiting timeline and then put his recruitment into context with the rest of the class. T-Frank discusses how he’s a good fit with fellow defensive end commit Joseph Mupoyi.
On that note, they switch to discussing Monday’s commitment in the 6-4 Mupoyi. The four-star edge rusher was long linked to Penn State, and the two parties made it official after Mupoyi’s visit over the weekend to Happy Valley. Fitz details how this recruiting situation unfolded and what upside he brings to Penn State.
More good news on the way?
But that’s not all Penn State fans should expect this week. There’s another 2023 player that Fitz thinks will choose the Nittany Lions before the week is out. Join the show to see which player that is and how T-Frank believes it gives the defense a good problem of too many quality recruits at one position.
Finally, they discuss the transfer portal and the players Penn State is targeting. The need at receiver is clear but which players are getting the most attention from the staff? Fitz gives a report plus outlines the top players and when they’ll get a visit from the staff.
Lastly, they review the bad news coming out of recruiting. One of Penn State’s defensive commits is taking a visit elsewhere this weekend and another is getting increased attention from schools in his area. Fitz gives his thoughts on if the team can hold it’s class together for the next eight days.
