GRADES AND SUCH

• Overall, it was a strong game for Purdue’s offensive line in the pass blocking department, led by Mahahme Moussa. Fantastic game for him.

Really strong grades for Sione Finau and Spencer Holstege at guard, and Devin Mockobee graded well in pass blocking (he only was asked to pass block on three snaps, though)

All three sacks of Aidan O’Connell were attributed to Eric Miller. Not a great day for him or Josh Kaltenberger in the pass blocking department.

Just okay grades for Purdue in run blocking.

PURDUE PASSING GAME

• Nothing jumps off the page about Aidan O’Connell’s performance from the PFF data.

• His pass chart:
Clean: 15-25, 250 yards, 2 TD
Pressure: 3-4, 40 yards (best grade)
No Blitz: 7-14, 85 yards
Blitzed: 11-15, 205 yards, 2 TD

Concept:
P/A: 4-5, 93 yards, 1 TD (great grade)
No P/A: 14-24, 197 yards, 1 TD
Screen: 5-5, 92 yards
No Screen: 13-24, 198 yards, 2 TD

• O’Connell was 2-3 on throws of 20+ yards, with his long touchdown pass to Charlie Jones and completion down the right sideline to Andrew Sowinski as completions.

• Purdue did not attempt a pass outside the numbers to the left side of the field.

• Only one drop for Purdue: Payne Durham.

PURDUE RUN GAME

• Purdue got 2.89 yards after contact. Look at Aidan O’Connell, who got three yards after contact on his runs.

Cory Trice 68
Cam Allen 63
Bryce Hampton 51
Jamari Brown 37

GRADES AND SUCH

• In limited snaps, Khordae Sydnor graded out as Purdue’s best player, highlighted by three QB hurries. Kydran Jenkins joined him in standing out at that LEO position.

• Excellent game for Cory Trice, who graded out particularly well as a tackler and had great coverage numbers. Just okay games for Reese Taylor and Bryce Hampton, and a pretty low grade for Jamari Brown.

• Safeties didn’t grade particularly well, nor did the linebackers.

• 3.90 yards after contact for Indiana on the ground. Not great.

• Connor Bazelak completed two of five passes attempted of 20+ yards and was shaky in the intermediate passing game. He came out of the game as the lowest-graded Hoosier on offense.

• Purdue got pressure on Bazelak 12 times. He completed just three of those passes and took an abysmal grade in that category. Purdue only blitzed twice, and Bazelak completed one of those two passes.
