While myriad players are jumping into the portal, Gus Hartwig is going nowhere. The Purdue center and team captain announced on social media today he will back in 2024.

The 6-5, 315-pound Hartwig will be an anchor next season for the offensive line, having started 36 games in his career–the most of any Boilermaker. The fifth-year senior-to-be from Zionsville, Ind., missed the first three games of 2023 as he rebounded from a November 2022 knee injury. He earned consensus honorable mention All-Big Ten honors this season, helping Purdue rank No. 4 in the Big Ten in rushing (169.1 ypg).

Hartwig was honorable mention All-Big Ten and named to the Rimington Trophy Watch List in 2022.

Hartwig is set to be joined by tackles Marcus Mbow and Mahamane Moussa, as well as guard Jalen Grant, as returning starters on the o-line in 2024.
