Purdue WR Mershawn Rice is in the portal

And another Purdue player has entered the portal, with WR Mershawn Rice the latest to take the plunge. He’s a grad transfer with one year of eligibility.

Rice arrived on campus in the Class of 2019 as a four-star recruit. But he often was de-railed by injury. He leaves West Lafayette having played just 24 games, making 33 catches for 445 yards and two TDs.

The 6-2, 215-pound Reynoldsburg, Ohio, native played in just seven games in 2023 due to injury, making four receptions for 93 yards. His best season was 2022, when Rice hauled in 23 grabs for 283 yards and a TD with three starts.
