2024 PF Mitchell Holmes commits to SMU Basketball

SMU Basketball landed 2024 Link Academy (Mo.) power forward Mitchell Holmes on Friday, he announced on Twitter. The Mustangs hosted him for an official visit Sept. 16 when the football team faced Prairie View A&M.
“First off, I would like to thank God for blessing me with the opportunity to play basketball and get recruited by many D1 programs,” Holmes said. “Next, I would like to thank my parents, family, friends, coaches and trainers for always supporting me through the ups and downs. With that being said I am excited to announce my commitment to play basketball at SMU!
“Lastly, I want to give a special thank you to Coach Lanier, Coach Crow and the entire SMU coaching staff for believing in me! Pony up.”
The Dallas area native and 6-11 big man officially visited Providence while Auburn, Rice and TCU are three programs pushing for Holmes as well.
