One-handed Matt Hibner TD catch gives SMU 29-17 lead at Clemson

SMU tight end Matt Hibner caught a pass one-handed then rolled into the endzone from 22 yards out to give the Mustangs a 29-17 lead over Clemson in the 4th quarter. Quarterback Kevin Jennings has been hobbled by injury, but Hibner caught Jennings’ 2nd touchdown throw of the game.
Hibner’s been banged up at times this season for SMU, but showed a lot reeling that one in to give the Mustangs a two-score advantage. Jennings has hit his stride as of late as a passer with his full compliment of wideouts.

“It’s given me a lot more freedom, honestly,” Jennings said this week about having his weapons healthy. “I’ve been with most of these guys for a couple years now. So, it gives me confidence just knowing I can put the ball in their vicinity and they’ll be there. I can anticipate throws earlier. It’s honestly a relief having all my playmakers back and ready to go.”
SMU leads at Clemson 29-17 following a missed extra point after Hibner’s score brought on by an unsportsmanlike penalty.
