SMU at Wake Forest: How to watch, live stream, start time, TV channel

The SMU Mustangs look to extend their nation’s best conference regular season winning streak with a win over the Wake Forest Demon Deacons on Saturday. The ACC matchup is set for 11 a.m. CT.
If SMU is to win, they’ll have to shut down Wake Forest running back Demond Claiborne, one of the nation’s most productive running backs. The Mustangs are solid in the redzone, something Wake Forest looks to flip.
“It’s a variety of things: reads, running, physicality — all of it. SMU shines a bit in the red zone because the DBs can’t be run past, so it all starts with running the football,” Wake Forest head coach Jake Dickert said of his team’s redzone struggles. “Our run rate right now is about 40 percent — that’s not going to win you football games. We have to stay ahead of the chains, especially when the field shrinks and you can’t take the ball over the top. There are a lot of little details: physicality on the perimeter, winning one-on-ones. The red zone is full of one-on-one matchups, and our guys have to be better than their guys on those plays.”

Head coach Rhett Lashlee is expecting a tough test against Dickert’s team on the road this weekend. The Demon Deacons were a hair away from taking down undefeated Georgia Tech earlier this year.
“I think what they’re doing is really good. I mean, they’re really good on defense,” Lashlee said Tuesday. “They’re one of the best in the country against the pass. They’re very efficient. They probably play harder, or as hard as any team we’ve played since we’ve been here and that just speaks to that they believe in their head coach and their staff and what they’re doing to be only six games in and 4-2.”
SMU has won its last 20 conference regular-season contests dating back to 2022, which is the longest active streak in the nation.
