Shane Beamer echoed a similar sentiment from his Tuesday press conference that South Carolina remains relatively healthy entering the Missouri game.

Speaking on his weekly radio show, Beamer said the Gamecocks are dealing with “normal bumps and bruises” but there isn’t anyone new who would miss Saturday’s game as of right now.

Terrell Dawkins, he said, practiced Thursday and will be in uniform if South Carolina needs him Saturday against MIssouri.

South Carolina is about as healthy as it has been since the start of the season.

The Gamecocks returned a slew of injured players last week coming off the bye week, most notably Boogie Huntley, Dylan Wonnum, Trai Jones, Christian Beal-Smith and Devonni Reed.

David Spaulding returned for the Kentucky game and has played well since in what is a relatively full-strength defensive backfield.

“It’s huge just from a depth standpoint,” Beamer said Tuesday. “From a defensive standpoint, it helps because you’re able to get some more guys in there. The other night against A&M we played some multiple personnel packages defensively with extra defensive back and things like that on the field a little bit more than what we had been beyond your basic five-DB nickel package. We weren’t really able to do that against Kentucky, so that helps… It just opens up possibilities and it makes your special teams better.”

Outside of Dawkins’s status being up in the air, the only other Gamecocks player out currently is Corey Rucker, who is still rehabbing a foot injury. As of right now, things are trending toward a redshirt for him.

“Potentially. It’s probably trending in that direction for when he gets healthy if he’s able to get healthy this season. It’s probably going to be to the point where you can play him this season and preserve some games. It’s a day-to-day thing for him. As each week goes by, I’d say that’s more and more likely.”

South Carolina is aiming for its fifth-straight win and first win over Missouri since 2018. The Gamecocks are riding a four-game win streak, most recently beating Texas A&M for the first time in program history 30-14.

Missouri has played plenty of close games, most recently a 17-14 win over Vanderbilt at home.

Kickoff is scheduled for 4 p.m. on the SEC Network. It’s South Carolina’s homecoming game.
