After not being picked up in the MLB offseason, former Gamecock outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. has found a home for the 2024 season. Bradley signed with the Long Island Ducks on Thursday.

The Ducks are apart of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball, a partner of Major League Baseball. Bradley is one of a few former big leaguers to play for the Ducks, others including Wei-Yin Chen and Chance Sisco.

While at South Carolina, Bradley batted .331 with 30 homers through three seasons with the Gamecocks. Bradley also helped the Gamecocks win back-to-back National Championships in 2010 and 2011.

After South Carolina, Bradley was drafted 40th overall by the Boston Red Sox in 2011 and played eight seasons in Boston. Bradley was apart of the 2018 World Series Championship team and batted .234 that season. That year, he was also named American League Championship Series Most Valuable Player with three hits and nine RBIs.

In 2021, Bradley was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers, where he played for one season and batted a career-worst .163. He then rejoined the Red Sox in 2022 but was traded at the July deadline to the Toronto Blue Jays. In 2023, Bradley found himself in Kansas City with the Royals before being released last June.

For his career, Bradley is a career .225 hitter with 109 homers and 449 RBIs. He’s within range of 10 years of MLB service time, currently with a tally of nine years and 57 days, putting him 115 days shy of that milestone.

The Ducks will open their season on April 25 against the Lancaster Stormers.
