Game time set for South Carolina's trip to Missouri

South Carolina’s next-to-last road game of the year officially has a kickoff time. 

The Gamecocks’ Oct. 21 game at Missouri will kick off at 3:30 p.m. on the SEC Network, the conference announced Monday.

Four of the Gamecocks’ first five games this year have been at night. South Carolina played one midday game at Georgia this year with no noon game yet. 

Missouri’s played six games this season: two noon games (1-1), one midday game (1-0) and three night games (3-0). 

This series was largely South Carolina dominated to Missouri’s time in the SEC, a 5-2 record from 2012 to 2018.

But the Tigers have won four straight in the series. They’re 8-5 all-time against South Carolina, 6-5 since joining the SEC. 

South Carolina’s last win in the series came in 2018, a 37-35 win in the famous rain game. The last win at Missouri was a 31-13 win in 2017. 

Under Shane Beamer, the Gamecocks lost 31-28 with a comeback falling short late on the road in 2021. The Gamecocks lost 23-10 at Williams-Brice to snap a four-game losing streak.

South Carolina, coming off an open week, hosts Florida on Saturday as part of Homecoming (3:30 p.m., SEC Network) before heading out to Missouri. It’s the first of seven straight games without a bye to end the season. 

The Gators currently sit at 4-2 overall with a win over Tennessee. Both losses came on the road this season at Utah and at Kentucky. Beamer is 1-1 in his time at South Carolina against Florida with the home team winning in blowouts each year.

The Gamecocks walloped Florida 40-17 in 2021 while the Gators returned the favor in 2022 with a 38-6 win in The Swamp. That was the final regular season loss of the year for the Gamecocks.

After playing at Missouri, they goes to Texas A&M then closes with four games at home to end the season: Jacksonville State, Vanderbilt, Kentucky and Clemson. 

Missouri, coming off a loss at home to LSU, travels to Kentucky this weekend for a night kickoff (7:30 p.m., SEC Network).
