Garnet Trust Exclusive: Josh Vann post-spring interview - presented by 360clean

Josh Vann was South Carolina’s leading receiver last season and while many at the time thought it may be his last year with the football program, Vann is back in the Garnet and Black for one more encore performance.
In his last Garnet Trust interview, presented by 360clean, Vann gave the details on his decision to return to South Carolina for a final season.
In this exclusive post-spring practice sitdown — also presented by 360clean — Vann looks back on spring practice and discusses both his own progress and the development of the receiver room around him.
Vann also talks about what it’s like to catch passes from Spencer Rattler, his offseason plans moving forward, and of course life as a father.
Check out the exclusive video below.

Vann’s breakout season
In his first year playing for South Carolina football coach Shane Beamer and wide receivers coach Justin Stepp, Vann hauled in 43 passes for 679 yards and five touchdowns this past season. The 43 catches smashed his previous season-high of 19 and the 679 yards was almost twice his career total of 377 yards in the three years prior.
While many South Carolina players in the past have opted to jump at the first opportunity to go to the next level, Vann took a more measured approach, announcing in early January that he’d return to Columbia for his final season of eligibility.
Vann likely would have been drafted this April, but the return allows him to potentially move up after putting another strong season on tape.
“The decision to come back,” Vann said. “You know I had a breakout season but do I go to the league and potentially do something off of one year of film? Or do I come back, so I can have a better situation of where the league may lead me to? So that was the biggest influence of my decision to come back to the University of South Carolina.”
