South Carolina football recruiting target at position of need nearing decision date

South Carolina football recruiting target Noah Clark is just one month away from his decision date. The big defensive tackle announced on Monday that he will make his commitment on July 2nd. Clark represents an important player in the 2026 cycle. The Gamecocks need young defensive line talent, with just two players at the defensive tackle position (freshmen Caleb Williams and Christian Ingram) still holding at least three years of eligibility.
An On3 industry rankings 4-star prospect, Clark is the No. 271 overall player in the class. He’s also No. 15 in a load group in North Carolina. Among defensive linemen, he ranks 27th in the country.
The Gamecocks got in on Clark early, something he has mentioned could play a factor in his recruitment. Defensive line coach Travian Robertson offered the big fella back in 2023, representing the first college coach to do so.

Listed at 6-4 and 320 pounds, Clark is a big-bodied guy who can handle business at nose tackle. He is a space-eater who cannot easily be driven off the line of scrimmage in one-on-one matchups. Though he isn’t a prototypical pass rusher on the interior, he managed to compile four sacks last season for his CE Jordan High School squad. More impressively, he registered 18.5 tackles for loss and 75 total stops during his junior campaign.
Clark has four official visits scheduled for this summer, following a spring OV to Virginia. He just went to Duke and will be in Columbia this weekend. Then, he will visit Virginia Tech and NC State the next two weekends. Notre Dame has been mentioned as a possible destination, but that trip has not been scheduled. He took unofficial visits to South Carolina, North Carolina, NC State, and Notre Dame this spring.
