WATCH: Landon Duckworth commitment ceremony

Happy Landon Duckworth Day to all those who celebrate.
The top South Carolina quarterback target will announce his decision Friday at 7 p.m. ET during a ceremony in his hometown.
The 6-foot-3, 180-pound four-star quarterback standout from Jackson (Ala.) High has a final two of the Gamecocks and Auburn after removing Ole Miss and Florida State from his list.
Final Duckworth Day Update: Will South Carolina get its guy tonight?
“It is even for me between Auburn and South Carolina,” Duckworth told Chad Simmons last month. “… It will come down to where I feel most at home, which offense I feel I fit the best in and my connection with the coaches.”
Duckworth originally narrowed his focus to those select schools after landing offers from schools like Georgia, Oregon, Texas A&M, Florida, North Carolina, and Arkansas, among others.
He took official visits to both finalists and then made return unofficial visits to each last month, with the plan always to likely decide in July.
If he commits to South Carolina tonight, it will mean his recruitment has come full circle.
Duckworth was originally committed to the Gamecocks early in the process but decommitted last June after nearly a year on the commit list.

The dual-threat standout was committed to then-South Carolina offensive coordinator Dowell Loggains but Mike Shula, who took over the role in December, has prioritized Duckworth and developed a strong relationship with him.
As a junior, Duckworth racked up 3,109 passing yards, 34 touchdowns and nine interceptions through the air. He also ran for 631 yards and 12 TDs in 14 games.
He is the nation’s No. 85 overall recruit and No. 8 quarterback prospect in the class of 2026, according to the Rivals Industry Ranking.
Duckworth would be the thirteenth commitment in South Carolina’s 2026 class, which is currently ranked 20th in the country, according to Rivals.
