– Shane Beamer begins his press conference by sending his thoughts and prayers to those impacted in the Baltimore area with the tragic news this morning that the Francis Scott Key Bridge collapsed after it was struck by a large ship.

– Energy at practice has been good. They’ll finish up this week on Thursday and then break for Easter. Practice No.5 Wednesday morning.

– Competition in the QB room has been good. Has been very pleased with how Sellers has grown as a leader since getting back here in Jan. With the additions or Robby Anderson and Davis Beville, competition goes up because they bring experience with them.

– Lost production this offseason but gained a lot of experience via the portal. Specifically mentioned the WR, RB, and EDGE rooms

INJURY NOTE: RB Juju McDowell will be shut down for the spring due to a collarbone injury that was re-aggravated after falling on it in practice. Should be ready to go for the fall camp.

– Very pleased with Djay Braswell. Says he still has a ways to go but he’s coming along and with the new additions in the RB room, he took the competition to heart and attacked the offseason hard. Told the RBs that were here last year that after going through the number of injuries they did last year, they needed to have a deeper room. Calls it a very a competitive room with the additions of Adaway, Rocket, and Howell.

– Likes the WR group. Aside from Nyck Harbor there’s not a lot of height but they bring a lot of other skills to the room. Says they’ll be creative with their personnel. Believes having a deep TE room will help them make up for the lack of size at WR.

– With the additions of transfers Kamara and Knight, feels that they’re more athletic this year at linebacker. Adds that the freshmen they’ve brought in (Johnson and Gregory) have looked real good so far.
