Tennessee Baseball Drew Beam Breaks Down His Win Over Missouri

Tennessee offense was slow on Friday night, but Drew Beam was on fire as the Vols held on for a 3-2 win over Missouri in game two of the Southeastern Conference series from Lindsey Nelson Stadium.

The victory secures the sixth-straight series win for the Vols (36-7, 16-6 SEC). The Tigers (19-25, 6-14) plated just the two runs on six hits in the ballgame.

Drew Beam (6-1) earned the win on the mound after working 7.1 innings while allowing two runs off six hits with eight strikeouts in the outing. It’s the third time in the past four starts Beam has worked through six frames and the ninth time in 11 starts this season he’s completed five. Logan Lunceford (1-4) is charged with the loss despite only allowing two runs off six hits in five innings of work.

Tennessee goes for its fifth series-sweep of the season and second in SEC play tomorrow with a game three Saturday first pitch at noon eastern time. But first, here’s how it all went down for the Vols in game two on Friday.
