Inside the Trojans' Huddle: USC spring ball updates and more recruiting buzz

In this episode of Inside the Trojans’ Huddle, the WeAreSC panel discusses what stood out from USC spring ball and some recruiting buzz.

First Quarter

We’re through another week of USC spring ball. What did we learn through Week 2 with the Trojans?

Second Quarter

USC hosted another group of talented recruits this past weekend and grabbed another commitment. What do we make of the commitment and where does USC recruiting stand as of today?

Editor’s Note: This podcast was filmed before the public commitments of four-star linebacker Matai Tagoa’i and three-star cornerback Trestin Castro.

Third Quarter

Basketball. Men’s head coach Andy Enfield left for SMU. The USC women lost a close one to UConn in the Elite 8.

Another note: This was filmed prior to the USC – UConn game in the Elite 8 of the Women’s NCAA Tournament.

Fourth Quarter

ESPN continues to produce content related to its Way-Too-Early Top 25. Provide your thoughts and/or complaints about the 25 teams listed and the fact that the USC Trojans are not included.

Arledge’s Ten Questions

1. Who will be the opening day starter at right tackle for the Trojans?

2. Where does JuJu Watkins currently rank in the all-time USC women’s basketball list?

3. What’s the one call (offense or defense) you never want to see again from USC.

4. Classic rock act you still need to see before they retire or die.

5. We’re going to end the NCAA’s tyranny over major college football, break away and form a new governing body, and you can bring back one dead US president to be the new commissioner.  Who do you choose?

6. All-time best movie quote.

7. USC player who became an NFL success that you never expected would succeed.

8. Worst prediction or piece of commentary you’ve ever made in writing or video for WeAreSC.

9. Fastest player in pads you’ve ever seen at USC.

10. Everybody knows how great the Lane Kiffin coaching tree is.  On Sept 21, we’ll see master versus pupil as Lane Kiffin’s Ole Miss squad takes on the assistant he brought to USC, Clay Helton, and his Georgia Southern Eagles.  Give me your prediction for this exciting matchup.
