Ja'Kobi Lane injury update: Back to 'full-go' after broken foot

USC head coach Lincoln Riley announced Thursday morning that star wide receiver Ja’Kobi Lane is back to full health after dealing with a broken foot this offseason.
Riley said Lane suffered the injury back in May and has been “full-go for the last four or five days.” The 6-foot-4, 200-pound junior receiver was notably not taking part in individual warmups early in fall camp and was in and out a bit as camp went on. Riley said Lane progressed a “little bit ahead of schedule” in his recovery.
“He’s been full go here for about the last week,” Riley said. “Getting him back in shape and kind of getting him back in the fold after missing some time. You can see some of the rust starting to get knocked off now.”

Lane is expected to be a huge piece of the wide receiver room for the Trojans this season. He led USC with 12 touchdown receptions last season and did it on just 43 receptions as part of a receiving corps that felt overloaded at time. USC lost three significant players over the offseason as Zachariah Branch, Duce Robinson and Kyron Hudson all departed via the transfer portal. Lane and Lemon will be the go-to receivers in cardinal and gold this season, with Lane already generating conversation as to whether he could push himself into the discussion as a first-round pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
He comes into his third season with 50 career receptions for 618 yards and 14 touchdowns. Much of that production came in just his most recent outing as Lane finished the 2024 season with a statement performance against Texas A&M in the Las Vegas Bowl. In that one, he hauled in seven receptions for 127 yards and three touchdowns. That gave him seven touchdown receptions on 11 total catches over the final three games of the season.
