June 1 means the start of the NCAA quiet period. USC assistant coaches have been on the road checking out prospects across the country during the spring evaluation period. During the quiet period, the Trojans coaches are no longer to evaluate or have contact with recruits away from USC’s campus.

So Lincoln Riley and staff will bring them to USC. The Trojans will host at least nine camps this month. They will range from youth camps, featuring third graders, to elite camps, with some of the best high school prospects in the country.

Things kick off today, with the Future Trojan Youth Camp. USC will run three of those camps on consecutive days.

After that, the Trojans will turn their attention to more immediate prospects with the Rising Stars Camp on June 5. USC coaches since Pete Carroll have run the Rising Stars Camp. But it’s interesting that in Lincoln Riley’s first time with it, it’s being moved to an evening camp billed as “Under the Lights.” It’s always worth watching to see which known targets come out to that and which prospects perform well enough to earn scholarships from USC.

Things have changed a little bit in recent years with these summer camps. Recruiting is sped up so much now that many of the 2023 targets no longer need to earn scholarships or prove themselves at summer camps. Focus is often placed on the younger prospects, with 2024 or 2025 recruits potentially serving as focal points this season.

USC’s other June camps include:

Trojans in Training Middle School Camp on June 21

Specialist Academy (Kickers/Punters/Snappers) on June 22

Skills Academy on June 23

High School Elite Camp on June 24

Lineman Academy on June 25

Today, USC announced an additiona. High School Elite Camp on June 11.

USC’s 2023 Recruiting Class

USC holds the No. 2 overall class in the 2023 recruiting cycle and the Trojans have the only class with two five-star commitments.

It’s led by Five-Star Plus+ quarterback Malachi Nelson and five-star wide receiver Zachariah Branch. Four-star wide receiver Makai Lemon and four-star running backs A’Marion Peterson and Quinten Joyner round out the offensive commits. Defensively, four-star cornerback Braxton Myers and three-star safety Christian Pierce are on board.
