Loyola Safety Peter Sciarrino Commits to USC!

USC’s exceptionally strong 2026 defensive back class just got stronger with the commitment from Loyola HS safety Peter Sciarrino. Sciarrino will join the Trojans as a preferred walk next season.
“There is nowhere like USC,” said Sciarrino. “The tradition, the energy, and the strength of the Trojan Family is unmatched. I’ve been locked in on this since I was a kid and now I get to make it real!”
Sciarrino joins former Cub teammate Brandon Lockhart, Madden Riordan, Josh Holland, Elbert Hill and Peyton Dyer. At one time RJ Sermons was also pegged to be a member of USC’s 2026 defensive backs class, but he reclassified to the 2025 recruiting class and enrolled in June. Former five-star Sermons is on the roster for this season.

Last season Sciarrino had an extremely productive junior season amassing 22 solo tackles and 53 assisted tackles for a total of 75. Five of those 7t5 tackles were for a loss. His 75 tackle total increased by 40 from his sophomore campaign.

We’re expecting a few more proffered walk-ons to be added to the class in the upcoming months, but we also expect the Trojans two add two or three more scholarship players to the 2026 recruiting class. One will likely be a safety, adding another tight end is also likely and so is possibly adding another defensive linemen. Lincoln Riley and staff will be evaluating 2026 targets throughout the spring.
