The USC Trojans have added the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns to their 2026 football schedule, according to a report from FBSchedules.com.

Kevin Kelley of FBSchedules.com obtained a copy of the game contract between the two schools from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette via a state public records request. Kelley said USC will pay Louisiana a $1.3 million guarantee to play the game.

The two programs have never met. Louisiana is coached by Michael Desormeaux, who took over for Billy Napier for the 2022 season, elevated from his previous position as co-offensive coordinator and tight ends coach.

This is the second non-conference game scheduled for 2026 for the Trojans. USC will host Fresno State at the Coliseum on September 5. The game against the Ragin’ Cajuns is scheduled for September 12.

Louisiana went 6-6 this season, including just a 10-point loss at College Football Playoff participant James Maison, 24-14. The Ragin’ Cajuns also lost at Missouri, 52-10. Louisiana will take on Delaware in the 68 Ventures Bowl on December 17.

USC still has a third non-conference game to schedule for next season. We will see if something gets worked out with a potential home or neutral site game against Notre Dame, or if the Trojans turn elsewhere.

USC’s 2026 Big Ten Conference schedule features home games against Maryland, Ohio State, Oregon and Washington. The Trojans will travel to take on Indiana, Penn State, Rutgers, UCLA and Wisconsin.
