USC pitches a perfect National Signing Day in signing 35 standout prospects
The USC Trojans pitched a perfect game on National Signing Day as Lincoln Riley’s program signed all 34 commitments they entered the day with and even added a four-star prospect.
The Trojans hold the No. 1 recruiting class nationally, which won’t be potentially locked in until the final player rankings are completed in January. It’s possible USC will need to hold off Oregon, which could make a move if they can flip five-star wideout Chris Henry Jr. from Ohio State.
But this has been an unbelievable showing for the Trojans in this recruiting class. USC gathered its commitments early in the cycle and was able to hold onto just about all of them. Just three players decommitted from USC in this cycle after national talking points early focused on how USC had loaded up early in previous classes only for them to suffer decommitments through the summer and fall.
There was some apprehension late in the day when five-star tight end Mark Bowman hadn’t signed. But USC officially announced the talented tight end around 6 pm Wednesday night to complete the class. The only signing day addition came early in the day when four-star wide receiver Kayden Dixon-Wyatt flipped his commitment from Ohio State to USC.
Thirty-two of the 35 prospects will enroll early next month and be available for spring ball.
DT Malik Brooks, WR Ethan “Boobie” Feaster and WR Roderick Tezeno Jr. are the only three who will join in the summer.
