USC running back Harry Dalton to enter NCAA transfer portal

USC Trojans running back Harry Dalton plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal when it opens in January, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Dalton just completed his true freshman season at USC. He finished the year with eight carries for 44 yards while appearing in four games. Dalton maintained his redshirt and will have four years remaining at his next school.

This is the second USC running back to announce that he will enter the transfer portal next month. Bryan Jackson previously did so.

Dalton looked like he could be a big piece of the running back rotation in the coming years, but it might not have been next season. If both Waymond Jordan and King Miller return to USC, those are likely the top two options for the Trojans in 2026. Dalton, Riley Wormley and James Johnson all got snaps as true freshmen at the running back position this year. USC also signed two four-star backs in the 2026 class in Shahn Alston and Deshonne Redeaux.

He was a four-star signee in the 2025 recruiting class, the nation’s No. 392 overall prospect.
