The Big Ten announced the 2024 college football slate and the USC Trojans now know the road they need to take to the championship game in the first year in their new conference.

USC’s 2024 schedule features six home games, five true road games and one neutral site game. USC’s nonconference schedule was not announced as part of the Big Ten schedule unveiling. But the three nonconference games and their dates have previously been announced by the Trojans or their opponent.

The Trojans will open the season on Sunday, Sept. 1 in the Vegas Kickoff Classic against the LSU Tigers at Allegiant Stadium. That will be a 4:30 pm PT kick and will air live on ABC.

USC’s home opener will take place the following weekend as Utah State is scheduled to visit the Coliseum on Sept. 7. That was originally a game against San Jose State, but it switched to Utah State this past summer.

USC is opening its Big Ten history with a bang. The Trojans’ first-ever conference game as a member of the Big Ten will take place Sept. 21 against Michigan. This will be USC’s first visit to Ann Arbor since a 20-19 Michigan win in 1958. The Trojans and Wolverines have met seven times in the Rose Bowl since then.

The Trojans will alternate home and road games throughout its Big Ten schedule in 2024.

The Trojans will then get Wisconsin at home on Sept. 28. USC had been 6-0 against Wisconsin until the Badgers beat the Trojans in the 2015 Holiday Bowl. The last meeting in the Coliseum was a 38-3 USC win during the 1966 season.

USC will hit the road the following week, traveling to Minnesota. The Trojans last visited Minnesota during the 2010 season, when they posted a 32-21 win.

Penn State then comes to the Coliseum on Oct. 12. The past two meetings between these two teams resulted in USC Rose Bowl wins. USC is 2-0 against Penn State in the Coliseum.

The Oct. 19 game will be at Maryland. This will be the first-ever meeting between USC and Maryland.

The Trojans will then take on Rutgers on Oct. 26, in the first-ever game between those two programs.

USC visits Washington the weekend of Nov. 2 before having an off week on Nov. 9.

USC then finishes with three games in Los Angeles, starting with a visit from Nebraska. USC is 4-0 all-time against Nebraska. The Cornhuskers have played in Los Angeles just once previously — a 28-10 USC win in 2006.

While things will feel different competing in the Big Ten, the finish to the 2024 schedule will be a familiar one to USC fans. The Trojans end the season with a visit to the Rose Bowl and the UCLA Bruins on Nov. 23, followed by a home game in the Coliseum against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Nov. 30
