There were times last season when national bowl predictions didn’t have the USC Trojans as a lock to participate in postseason play. Lincoln Riley’s program did grab two wins over the final three games to reach the 6-win mark and earn a trip to the Las Vegas Bowl, where the Trojans authored a comeback win against Texas A&M. The preseason bowl projections are out from some national outlets and the Trojans are predicted to head back to the postseason, though fall short of the College Football Playoff.

USC vs Texas Tech

USC is 3-0 all-time against Texas Tech but the programs haven’t played since the 1995 Cotton Bowl following the 1994 season. USC wide receiver Keyshawn Johnson went wild in that game, catching eight passes for a Cotton Bowl-record 222 yards and three touchdowns as part of a 55-14 win. The Red Raiders very clearly won the transfer portal this offseason and loaded up in the front seven. Two former Trojans landed in Lubbock this offseason in defensive end Romello Height and running back Quinten Joyner.

USC vs Kansas State

Kansas State is 2-0 against USC all time as the Wildcats put together back-to-back narrow wins over the Trojans in 2001 and 2002.

Holiday Bowl (Bonagura)

USC vs. Georgia Tech

These programs are 2-2 against each other all time. In the most recent matchup, the Yellow Jackets were on the opposite sideline for one of the more depressing USC bowl losses of all time. USC started the season ranked No. 1 in the nation and ended it gaining 205 total yards and throwing three interceptions while falling to 7-6.

USC vs Duke

USC is 3-0 against the Blue Devils all time, though the programs haven’t played since 1975. USC and Duke played in one of the all-time great Rose Bowl games all the way back in 1939. The Blue Devils entered that game unbeaten and unscored upon with a 9-0 record. The Trojans scored the game-winning touchdown with one minute remaining on a pass from Doyle Nave to “Antelope” Al Krueger to win it 7-0.
