USC’s had success recruiting Florida the last 20 years, but it’s been a few since the Trojans had significant success there. In fact, since Tee Martin was let go by Clay Helton after the 2018 season, the Trojans haven’t really spent much effort in Florida.

USC Athletic Director Mike Bohn and Football Chief of Staff Brandon Sosna hiring Lincoln Riley as head coach has changed a lot, including the talent the Trojans pursue.

We expect USC to pursue the best players in the country no matter where they’re from, regardless of which schools the Trojans are up against and the schools kids may be committed to.

There are obviously limits to how vigorously it makes sense to pursue some players who don’t show much interest in the West Coast, but Riley is as good as any head coach in the nation when it comes to recruiting. And his staff consists of many coaches considered elite recruiters.

By the time summer ends, we expect at least a dozen Elite Florida prospects to visit the USC campus. We expect at least six from the class of 2023 to ultimately schedule official visits.

As of March 6, 2022, WeAreSC expects 2023 Wide Receiver Brandon Inniss, OL Francis Mauigoa, RB Cedric Baxter, DL Will Norman, RB Treyaun Webb, ATH Samuel M’Pemba, Edge Malik Bryant, RB Mark Fletcher and CB Dijon Johnson to have visited USC by Summer

We haven’t communicated with every 2023 prospect from the Sunshine State, so the list will likely grow. This will be a story in itself for us at some point.

Several of the Top 2024 Florida prospects will also visit USC this Spring.

Jeremiah Smith from Chaminade-Madonna Prep in Opa Locka (FL) will be among the group of talented 2024 Floridians at USC this Spring/Summer.

Smith told WeAreSC Sunday night he plans to visit USC March 11. He’ll accompany 5-Star WR Brandon Inniss and 5-Star CB Tony Mitchell. They’ll be playing for the South Florida Express at the Los Angeles Pylon 7v7 Event March 12-13.

Smith already has offers from USC, Alabama, Georgia, Georgia Tech, LSU, Ohio St., Utah, Florida, Florida St., Ole Miss, Penn St., West Virginia, Miami, Pitt, Rutgers, South Carolina, Texas A&M, UCF, Temple, Toledo, Syracuse and Indiana.
