* Purdue head coach Barry Odom oversaw a complete roster overhaul this offseason in adding 54 players via the transfer portal.

* There are several USC – Purdue ties in this game. Former USC offensive line coach Josh Henson is the Purdue offensive coordinator. Former USC wide receiver Michael Jackson III is now playing for Purdue. And Purdue head coach Barry Odom overlapped with USC quarterback Jayden Maiava when both were at UNLV in 2023.

* Purdue quarterback Ryan Browne is completing 65.3% of his passes for 481 yards and four touchdowns against one interception. He’s also rushed for 55 yards and a score.

* Purdue running back Devin Mockobee is coming off 32 rushing attempts in the win over Southern Illinois. He already has 46 carries this season, for 185 yards and three touchdowns.

* Michael Jackson III leads Purdue with seven receptions, but Arhmad Branch has been the big-play threat with five catches for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
