Maryland offensive lineman Khristopher Love has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He spent for years with the Terrapins and appeared in one game last season.

Love was largely a reserve for Maryland during his time with the program, playing in just two games during his career. His lone appearance in 2023 came against Towson as the Terps came away with the 38-6 victory.

Love played high school football at American Heritage (Fla.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 1,219 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Love is the 13th Maryland player to enter the portal so far this cycle, although the Terrapins have brought in five transfers. The group of newcomers includes former Bowling Green transfer Jalen Huskey – the No. 29-ranked cornerback to enter the portal, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. Last season, he had 52 tackles and four interceptions as a key part of the Falcons’ defense.

The most notable addition, though, is former NC State quarterback MJ Morris, who is likely the heir apparent to Taulia Tagoavailoa after he declared for the NFL Draft. He spent the last two years at NC State, appearing in nine games over that time.

This past season, Morris appeared in four games, throwing for 719 yards and seven touchdowns in relief of Brennan Armstrong. After the year, he decided to transfer and commit to Maryland with immediate eligibility.

“The coaching staff really stood out to me at Maryland,” Morris told On3’s Hayes Fawcett upon his commitment. “They all showed so much love and support that it made me fall in love with the program. Having the opportunity to be coached by Coach Locksley and Coach Gattis and their history of developing QB’s also was a big part of this decision. The culture that they have up there is special and I can’t wait to become a part of it.”

Maryland is coming off an up-and-down 2023 season, finishing with an 8-5 overall record and a 4-5 mark in conference play. The Terrapins will kick off 2024 against UConn on Aug. 31.
