Morgan State running back JJ Davis enters transfer portal

Morgan State running back JJ Davis has entered the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.
A former first-team All-MEAC selection while at Norfolk State, Davis originally enrolled at Cincinnati and spent one year there in 2019, taking a redshirt.
He then transferred to Norfolk State, which didn’t play football in 2020 due to COVID-19. He had a breakout campaign a year later as a freshman.
In 2021, Davis ran for 887 yards and 10 touchdowns, while also catching 15 passes for 194 yards and a touchdown. He’d have trouble replicating those numbers in 2022, playing in just seven games before transferring to Morgan State.
He saw a slight uptick in production after moving to Morgan State. JJ Davis is coming off a season in which he rushed for 584 yards and two touchdowns. He also added 11 catches for 83 yards.
Clearly he’s a player who can play when healthy, and he’ll be an intriguing addition to the NCAA transfer portal as a former all-conference player.
