Former Notre Dame linebacker Nolan Ziegler has committed to Central Michigan, he announced via social media. He entered the transfer portal Dec. 30 after two years with the Fighting Irish.

Ziegler appeared in four games at Notre Dame, mostly on special teams, but had one tackle on defense. He decided to transfer one day after Notre Dame defeated Oregon State in the Sun Bowl.

“I am excited to announce I will be accepting my offer at Central Michigan University to play Linebacker / Receiver for the Chippewas,” Ziegler wrote on X. “Thank you Coach [Jim] McElwain and the rest of the staff for this incredible opportunity. I will also be using this God given opportunity to develop my two non profits; Angel’s Jerseys and No Evil Zone.”

Nolan Ziegler played high school football at Catholic Central (Mich.), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 276 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
