Ole Miss wide receiver Larry Simmons committed to transfer to Southern Miss. He announced the decision on social media.

Simmons played one season with Ole Miss. In that, the 2023 season, he played one snap in one game, the Georgia Tech game. He will have four years of eligibility at Southern Miss.

“Next chapter let’s get to it!!” Simmons wrote.

While at Ole Miss, Larry Simmons had several academic accomplishments. Among those, he was on the Dean’s List, the Athletic Director’s Honor Roll, and the SEC First-Year Honor Roll.

Larry Simmons played high school football at Moss Point (MS), where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 610 overall recruit in the 2022 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Southern Miss is coming off a 3-9 season under head coach Will Hall. It was the Golden Eagles’ second season in the Sun Belt. With players like Simmons, Southern Miss is hoping to bounce back and compete for conference championships at the Group of Five level again.
