UCF cornerback Jarvis Ware officially entered the NCAA Transfer Portal on Friday evening, On3’s Pete Nakos reported. He started his career with the Missouri Tigers. In 2022, he racked up 41 total tackles with the Knights.

He appeared in 28 games as a defensive back at Missouri. Ware snatched his first career interception at Florida in 2020, taking it 59 yards for a touchdown. As a sophomore, Ware had 33 tackles his sophomore year, taking over one of the Tigers’ two cornerback slots. In the 2018-2019 season at Mizzou, he also made first year SEC Academic Honor Roll.

He played his high school football at Wekiva High School (Apopka, Florida), where the defense allowed just 8.6 points per game, going 10-1 and earning a spot in the Class 8A state playoffs in 2017. As a senior in high school, he snatched four interceptions, returning two for touchdowns. When he chose Missouri, Ware chose them over offers from Oregon, South Florida, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest, and Central Florida, among many others.

His primary recruiter was Ryan Walters, who Ware said played a huge role in him deciding to sign with Missouri.

During his high school testing, he was clocked at a 4.6 40-yard dash and posted a 35-inch vertical leap. Blessed with excellent skills on special teams, he was also utilized as a kick and punt returner as a senior in his high school days.

UCF finished 6-7 overall this year, falling 30-17 in their bowl game. They had a five-game losing streak in the middle of the season, but rebounded to win three of their last five. Their best win of the season came when they delivered a 45-3 thrashing of the 15th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys. Javon Baker was dominant in that one, hauling in four catches for 112 receiving yards. Baker was one of the more explosive wideouts in the country, hauling in 1,139 total yards.

Before transferring to the Knights to play running back, Harvey was listed as a third-string quarterback for the Virginia Cavaliers. An explosive quarterback in his high school days for Edgewater, the UCF standout threw for 1,787 yards and ran for 1,376 yards as a senior. Harvey also helped guide Edgewater to a state semifinal appearance in 2018, after the previous group went 0-10 as sophomores.
