I have been to two games in Rupp this year: Evansville and Mississippi State. Evansville crows was horrible . MS ST crowd was pretty good . Vandy crowd tonight was loud and into it

Vandy gym was about 3000 shy of capacity tonight, a lot of their fans are tired of that ugly *** court. LOL... bsd crowd for being the SuperBowl. go big blue

I heard Pratt say before the game started that there was a lot of blue in the building.

It was almost all UK fans outside the students.

That gym is TOTAL garbage. It is an embarrassment to the game of basketball. Praying my group was not exposed to asbestos.

That gym is unique and with a decent VU team is a hard place to play in. UK has had many crazy nights there. I don't mind the gym at all. Its great to see something like that today instead of the bland gyms today that all resemble the same thing.

I think we should play in some of the old tobacco warehouses around town! That would be about as good as Vandy's opera house!

Anytime you can even hear GO BIG BLUE on the road it is awesome. That has to bother the home team, we know it bothers the fans. They definitely gave the team a boost last night.

I rewatched the 2nd half broadcast when I got home last night. At one point when the “go big blue!” chant started Jimmy Dykes commented it was about 50/50 Kentucky fans and Vandy fans. He was being very kind to the home team. Wasn’t even close to 50/50.

FALSE!!

I don’t mind some history and uniqueness, but every aspect of that place is total crap...the terrible views of the stupid raised floor, the 1950’s scoreboards you can only see from certain seats, the wood bleachers, the 80 flights of steps to a nasty bathroom, the narrow halls between open areas and exits. There is not one thing about that place that is “cool”.

Wish I'd taken a half vacation day yesterday and drove to Nashville for the game. Would've been kind of a late night getting back home, but what a 2nd half they played. [thumb2]

The concession stand that has Puckett’s completely ran out of food before halftime, so that sucked. The concessions leave a little to be desired. I liked being able to grab a beer from the black and gold lounge and bring it back to my seats though.

I like the uniqueness of the gym. My daughter goes to school there, so I got to witness her friends giving her grief in the first half, only to have the Cats come through for her in the second half. She just sent me a text that the two players she has a 8:00 class with this morning came in and just shook their head when they saw her in her UK sweatshirt this morning. Having the game at 6:00 local time last night in Nashville makes that place hard to get to in Nashville traffic. Also I have mentioned before, but where is all the SEC money going at Vanderbilt. I really think the SEC should mandate that Vanderbilt update their facilities. If they don't want to build a new football or basketball stadium, then invest some money in what they have. They could play at the Titans stadium or Bridgestone for a year to get the makeover. With them being a private university, they don't have to disclose where that money is going, but by looking around campus, it is not going to the big two sports.

They have so much money it is ridiculous but wont spend on athletics.

We can agree to disagree. I like the uniqueness. You sound a bit angry with all CAPS and yes they need some upgrades, but overall it’s a nice place to play. I could argue that in many aspects Rupp is god awful with accessibility and only now getting decent with some upgrades after years of neglect.

Their concession situation was kind of crap, but other than that I had a good experience. I didn’t have a problem with the arena at all.

Definitly remember that game. I was cussing Maddux for making that shot and how Vandy can never be counted out because they always have some good shooters from behind the arc. Then Nazr tossed in a miracle. I thought for sure they'd overrule it and send us to OT.

Man, I was in 3F as well! On the second row. All blue and the GO BIG BLUE started up there numerous times. It was LOUD! One of the most fun games I've attended there. Last year's was a sleeper, as we had a big lead the entire game.
