Count me in the minority who doesn't like sunrise being that late.
On the first day of winter 2026 sunrise time would be 8:38 in Iowa. I don't understand the desire to have more daylight after work in winter. It's too cold most of the time to do outdoor activities anyway. I'd rather have it be light when I go work. It's different for those of you in warmer climates.

I don't really care now that I'm retired other than I have some concerns about students waiting at bus stops in the dark and teenage drivers navigating slick roads in the dark on their way to school.

School children walking to school in the dark doesn’t sound good. I agree.

Snowflake = I just can’t mentally cope with the clock changing an hour.

do these people blow their brains out in airports when they fly to a different time zone?

Can we also get rid of time zones while we’re at it?

That's why I laugh at all the doom articles that come out around that time every year about all the "health risks" a time change engenders.

I"m like, if it were that bad, people would be keeling over after traveling a couple timezones constantly.

How many years has this been brought up now with nothing happening? Just set it between the two and call it good.
Honest question, does anyone actually like changing the clocks twice a year?

I'm the opposite. Mornings typically suck because I am working. I don't care if it is light or dark. I like more daylight after work when I am doing things I enjoy doing.

Depending on where in winter you live, after school is in the dark currently. So damned if you do damned if you don't?

It is, but my point was if Chin a can make it work to make their entire massive country on one time zone (despite one side's sunrise being 10am), we can fit a entire states under one time zone.
Then say that.
