do you have any objection to players unionizing and collectively bargaining or have you just been programmed to say "cory booker lol" any time you see his name
1-Yes, the thought of college students “unionizing” strikes me as silly and unnecessary.
2-Cory Booker’s authored mostly legislation regarding marijana and prison reform, which was the reason for the “lol”.

I hold zero hope or interest for Congress (both sides) and the NCAA to solve this issue.

Tough road then since there is no other way to fix the situation other than those approaches or collective bargaining.

Agreed and that was my point. I do not expect any elegant or fair outcome when the NCAA (the reason we are here) and grandstanding politicians are creating the solution.

Money is going to win (SEC/Big10), with whatever winning looks like. The model is not sustainable for “average Joe fan/Alumni” because of the money required and th immediate transfer rule.

The biggest issue is immediate transfer and the law would given only one to any player. That is a huge answer.

Leave it to hall85 to be the arbitor of which groups of aligned people can unionize or not.

What this all is, a lot of scared adults that don't want to call what they have allowed to take place college workforce labor.

Here is the conditioned opinion of what has taken place....
Head coach compensation has greatly increased in the last generation. Every school thinks next season they can play for a national title.

The simplistic understanding of NIL was OK maybe the top 1 percent can earn money they should put away for a rainy day down the line.

Then corruption and the legal industry took over.

People like SHU alumni and fans realize longterm they can't feed to meet a yearly inflation payroll.

It may not have been transparent but most programs in many sports would blur the lines always before NIL.

It’s my opinion. Everyone is free to have theirs. Stop being so dramatic.

NCAA and college Presidents are complicit. Now they want Congress to fix what the f-ed up. Good luck with that.

Looks like it will get past the Senate. Lot of questions in the House. If the legislation reins in the yearly transfer, then more schools will have a chance to compete. The money isn’t going away however.

Pro sports teams are a business. Some rich Dodger fan doesnt help pay Ohtani, Dodger revenue does, like with all pro sports teams. Without the rich fan subsidy, the current college bb and fb model doesnt work.

Does thus effect how laws deal with our game? That this is not normal commerce.

I just saw any article about the scandals re Man City soccer. UK soccer rules stipulate teams can only spend based on a percentage of their earnings.

An Arab billionaire bought Man C and seems they massiveky played with the books
