For whatever reason our basketball trainers have been awful since the 2nd half of Cal’s tenure. There has to be something wrong with the training regimen and how they do things. Maybe it’s bias but I don’t see any other team struggle THIS much with injuries.
No other teams struggle with injuries BULLS@@#. EVERYBODY HAS INJURIRS. Some teams get lucky and have few and some are unlucky and get alot.Injuries are random and the training staff has very little to do with it. Why do you guys need to blame someone. It's easier than accepting that we dont control everything I guess.

We have become a statistical anomaly for injury rate of top level programs.
I can't think of another major program that has lost more starters/key players for more periods of time than UK the last few years.

I agree we seem to be snake bit with injuries but none of these are the result of poor training. No trainer can prevent a damn finger fracture a Jones foot fracture an ACL tear or a ham string. The two shoulder injuries in past couple of years point to the transformation of basketball into a full contact sport with no pads. Many people want to blame a single person for every bad thing that happens. Bad things happen. Learn to live with it.

Not saying you’re wrong, but is there an actual statistic that you’re looking at?

Good question. Someone smarter than me can probably find that out. I just don't remember Duke, Kansas, UConn or any other big program struggling to play their starters due to injury every year like UK.
I think Cal had his fair share of injuries also, seems like Ky is cursed. Also seems like players are really fragile. The amount of ankle injuries are ridiculous, I wonder if it’s because all these guys wear low top shoes, back in the day everyone wore high tops and I don’t remember all these ankle injuries. But what the hell, It’s better to look pretty with the bright color low top shoes.

When AD went down against Baylor, Cal made a Faustian bargain on the spot and we have reaped the curse ever since

Big chunk of it is culture. Pope has little ability to make guys want to play for him. It causes a massive nil leverage imbalance and we end up with players that sit out every time they sneeze.

Just look at Lowe last year. Random non contact injury in the very last game before he would be ineligible for red shirt. Total coincidence I am sure lol.

The exception was kam. I couldn't believe he came back but was glad to see he fought.

That’s inexcusable if that’s true. WTF is happening to the basketball program right now?

Right now? It’s been going on for a while. I
remember cals teams in the summer came out ripped because they lived in the weight room. Popes guys lack muscle definition. That’s where all this begins….the weight room

Why do you make crap like this up? You can hate Pope without complete idiocracy. We won't think any less of you for it.

I don't know about Cal's teams being in the best shape either. That being said the weight room is absolutely essential to prevent injuries and to increase athletic performance. Lean muscle mass is directly correlated with athletic performance, which is rather obvious, but needs to be said.

Lowe’s injury required a surgical repair. Some coincidence. Lol

Kerr Krissa could have come back from injury but opted to preserve his eligibility for another year and transfer.
