My only mild disappointment with him is that he’s really not a runner at all after initially being billed as a dual threat. As long as he’s not forced to run for his life though, he sees the field well, delivers catchable balls on time, and rarely puts the ball in danger. Those qualities can take a team a long way, and bringing him out if the portal seems to be a big success so far.

What's funny is that I was complaining about him never showing emotion earlier in like the 1st quarter when we were getting hammered. It appears to be ultimately a positive.

USC looked like a completely different team in the first quarter. Physically dominant in all aspects of the game. In hindsight, that looks like a short-lived consequence of whatever come-to-Jesus talk Beamer gave them after the Alabama game. The fact that Stein and company had the awareness and self-confidence to play through that is just incredible. At the first on-field interview, when Kentucky was down double digits, Stein said something like, We have a great game plan. Turned out he knew exactly what he was talking about.

I'm glad he's not a full fledged runner. We don't need him taking hits. He runs enough to get 1st downs and that's just fine.

Took a couple of games to get used to the SEC speed. He’s probably never seen it much before. This is the NFL G-League. Soooo many great defensive players have gone on to play on Sunday’s in this conference. It’s a big adjustment.
