I don't think the fanbase has been this united about firing a coach

Since maybe croom and yet there's a chance this administration doesn't fire him just because he may beat Vandy. If the whole fanbase can see the numerous holes in the team in year 3 even without our starting QB, then our AD needs to get his head out of the sand. Just a pathetic feeling being a state fan

Well the big donors have to write the $7m dollar check to cover his buyout.

...and as much as I think he isn't HC material, he does have a legit excuse with the injuries and getting to 6-6 at Mississippi State is never a given.

If he's trailing Vandy at halftime, Arnett should be interim HC for the 2nd half.

It is the acceptance of mediocrity as the ceiling. It’s loser mentality.

Jan’s, Purcell, and Lebby should all be gone, just like Lemonis needed to go.

We wait, give grace, wait, make excuses, and fall farther and farther behind. We need to get a pair and just pull the trigger and go after a winner. We did it in baseball. It’s not rocket science.

I agree but MSU administration doesn't give a crap about the average fan and never have in my lifetime. They will listen only to the big donors.
Guy in my hometown. Can’t hear and can’t talk. Deaf and dumb. Huge State fan. Has attended every single Miss State home game since 1996. Most bowl games as well.

anyways, years and years ago ,

keenum was once pumping gas in said hometown where he has a summer lake house. The deaf guy saw him pumping gas at the Shell and immediately pulled in, approached him, and wrote down a a piece of paper.
please keep Mullen

so while what you say is probably true, sometimes there’s no way to avoid the “average fan” who is adamant about success.

I'm not for firing Lebby. Lane Kiffin couldn't win with the injuries we have. Why don't we have depth behind each injury? NIL spreads talent around and limits depth, hence no team is safe from defeat this season. MSU just got serious about NIL before last season so we are a little behind the 8 ball. Injuries: Staring rb, QB 1 and 2, two DL, one OL last night, both. projected starters at LB although Tillman came back strong last night, Safety and team captain, 1 corner with a cast on his hand. That's a heck of a lot of injuries and the margins for winning and losing these days are thin. If I'm judging Lebby this year, I'm looking at the first 4 games and how well coached the team looked. At that time, the only glaring problem was left tackle. Kirby Smart just talked about how so many players are getting injured this year and they aren't really sure why. It happens and MSU got a quadruple dose of it.

Who cares about Purcell? He’s at least not embarrassing us. And really Jans too. He is embarrassing us but it’s just basketball. We just don’t have the resources to be good at every sport. Be elite in baseball, competitive in football. Then keep programs that are competitive going (soccer softball). Trying to be competitive in men’s basketball is just too expensive for us.

Count me out on this, Lebby was not given a level playing field, ...I don't agree with everything he does,
But, I'd rather wait.
JMO, I chose not to be on the band wagon.....

Feels like we are in old Western, and there is a lynch Mod outside the Sherifs office.

I think its a little more than 7. But that 7+ would buy 2 legit tackles I bet.
It’s 75% of his remaining contract if we fire him without cause. Two years left 27&28 at 4.5 is 9MM, 75% is 6.5MM. That is also mitigated and could be negotiated if both parties are ready to move on. The other piece is the staff. Several contracts run out Dec 31, some run out June 30 and some are multiple years. Id say that’s roughly going
to cost 2 to 2.5MM, but also mitigated. All in.. looking at 8.5/9MM. That’s a drop in the bucket for a sec program. Another thing, you retain him your Rev loss is probably going to be more than 9MM with low ticket sales, low attendance, lack of donations to BC and NIL. One more item of note.. the buyout probably doesn’t change in 27 either because your going to probably over spend on 4 to 6 new coaches this offseason and might have to roll another year into lebbys contract (state snd BC share). And that 40MM NIL pledge today….well might go down significantly if you bring him back .

Not for Lebby n Loadholt. They couldn’t get one witth $5 mil. It’s past time.
I think that trying to get him was a mistake. I think that they should have taken that $5M and gotten several good DL and OL guys instead of trying to buy the one guy and leaving several holes around him

Shaking my head, you're basing his future on 4 games and 1 player rather than the 11-22 total body of work.................which included mistakes like blowing the TX game last year, blowing the FL game last year, Toledo TN and AR game first season, Hutzler, Loadholt, Arnett, Puckett, etc etc etc. But we won 4 games to start this season and that's your basis. Remember, we won 4 to start last season too and then went 1-8
