I give the advantage to JM.
No way...Jodie was a much better defensive player and if he come back for his senior year I think he may have become a lottery pick or for certain a 1st rounderMurray all day.
Meeks was great, but he wasn't a solid ball handler and had too many turnovers in crunch time. After that UT game you could count on him driving through a crowded middle to get the ball stolen about 5 times a game. They were probably about equal on defense.
I can't decide. Meeks going off for 54 against the 1st team I despised (still) was REALLY something. Remember, you don't get 54 with out some assists from the other players that realize it is your night. Did Murray ever get a game like that?
No doubt... And if he came back, we would've probably won the title..No way...Jodie was a much better defensive player and if he come back for his senior year I think he may have become a lottery pick or for certain a 1st rounder
Jodie wasn't Jamal coming out of high school.
[laughing]Tough one. I give the advantage to JM.
not so sure that's would have happened, - the potential would have been there, sure, but maybe not the reality. Part of the reason Jodie did what he did his junior year was because of who else was on that team.Meeks as a junior was better than Murray as a freshman. Plus, Murray had Ulis setting him up while Meeks had Michael Porter. Think about that for a second.
I think if Meeks would've come back as a senior, he could've put up Hield-type numbers.
How can you talk about "his senior year" when Murray was barely able to play as a freshman? No way...Jodie was a much better defensive player and if he come back for his senior year I think he may have become a lottery pick or for certain a 1st rounder
[roll]According to Dick Vitale he was.
Not a chance. He may have been the difference in a championship but he wasn't putting those numbers up with Wall & Cousins leading the way.Meeks as a junior was better than Murray as a freshman. Plus, Murray had Ulis setting him up while Meeks had Michael Porter. Think about that for a second.
I think if Meeks would've come back as a senior, he could've put up Hield-type numbers.
