Volleyball Heads Into Final Nonconference Weekend \ Bryant, Penn, St. John's

We were down 12-8 in that pivotal 4th set and actually rallied to win it 27-25, and then won the fifth set 15-10. Bryant was 5-8 before this match against a mostly mid-major schedule, so this would have been an awful loss for Rutgers. Can't take any team lightly.

Any Advice for Head Coach Knight

Highly doubt Knight is going to change too much in Pike's absence. The team has learned Pike's system for the past several months, and BK will likely be just continuing to play the same system rather than trying to implement "his" own changes.

Women's Soccer Opens Big Ten Play at Oregon

Before tonight, Oregon was 5-0-1. They beat Portland State (3-0), Gonzaga (3-0), tied Santa Clara (1-1), and defeated San Francisco (3-0), Oregon State (6-0), and Utah (1-0), thereby outscoring their opponents by a total of 17-1 in their six matches. So getting the clean sheet tonight against...

Men's Soccer Set to Host Seton Hall and #21 UCSB Over Long Labor Day Weekend

I’m not sure where that comes from. Field hockey is probably the most likely to be “good,” but they’re also rebuilding, so it’s no sure thing. WSOC had a nice win over Princeton, but this is not one of Princeton’s better teams, so it’s unclear if the win is an indication that we can be...

    Women's Soccer Welcomes Princeton

I agree with you about player development -- Pike has a track record of success there. But player development is a different conversation than scheme.

    Women's Soccer Welcomes Princeton

Yeah, MON seems similar to Pike in the sense that they recruit players and rely on those players’ individual skills rather than trying to work on scheme etc.

Men's Soccer Set to Host Seton Hall and #21 UCSB Over Long Labor Day Weekend

If the season plays out for MSOC the way it’s currently trending, Jim McElderry will likely be fired. He’s either on his last year of his contract or has one year remaining, so not a significant buyout expense, if any, and he will have only made the NCAA Tournament once in eight years (a single...

Men's Soccer Set to Host Seton Hall and #21 UCSB Over Long Labor Day Weekend

Rutgers falls to UCSB 1-0. We controlled most of the possession and chances in the 2nd half, but the Gauchos scored on a 25-yard banger with about 20 minutes left. The Scarlet Knights are now 1-3-1, and other than scoring 4 goals in their win over Sacred Heart, they have only scored 1 goal...

Men's Soccer Set to Host Seton Hall and #21 UCSB Over Long Labor Day Weekend

After dominating play in the second half, and creating several scoring chances, Rutgers just gave up a banger from 25 yards out. Losing 1-0 with 15 minutes left.

    MLAX roster questions

I suspect you’re right. For some reason, I was thinking that the 2022 issue only impacted players who had been on pro rosters.

    MLAX roster questions

Next year’s roster is posted on the Rutgers website, and there are three players who played 4 years and are not on next year’s roster: - LSM Ryan Splaine - SSDM Andrew Macheca - OMid Kasey Mongillo Wouldn’t these guys have one more year under the new 5 for 5 eligibility rule? Or did they enter...
