    these could go so many ways. Currency stability, political instability, personal savings. I don't invest in precious metals or tech stocks for the same reason. As Peter Lynch famously said, "Don't invest in anything you can't explain to a 10-year-old."

    my irrigation system was hit by lightening. My electrician installed surge protectors in my electrical panels which I hope will prevent future major issues...about $300 each.

    You didn't mention size but whatever you do buy, plan on a sound bar. It really doesn't need to be high $. Sam's Club has a sale on July 24-26 with a Vizio 100" for $998. Lots of smaller sizes also on sale.

    Ole Miss isn't being completely truthful with their enrollment growth

    I haven't the time or patience to delve into the Ayres lawsuit, but the federal court set the enrollment acceptance criteria because of underfunding by the legislature for decades. I've heard rumors from some thinking they can take Ole Piss private to avoid the entrance requirements.

    Worst ref call in State history (topic from the pay board)...

    As for one bad ref call, to me it occurred back in the late 60's in Baton Rouge. State had the ball and ran 2 plays and it mysteriously became 4th down. Screwed without running a play. Jack Cristol was at his best...totally livid!

    OT: Transition from Candence to Huntington.

    Yesterday it turned into a **** show... I've been getting letters for months and thought I was prepared but not after my Cadence branch called me yesterday. On top of completely having to set up Bill Pay on Monday, I find I'll have to re-set-up direct deposit again before the end of the year...
