Westside, the best team in Nebraska…ever?

Yes, Westside was able to build an all star team. Many of the stars were not from Westside district and transferred into the school in high school. Same thing with their hoops teams. Bellevue West and Westside can pull basically any student from anywhere in Nebraska. I know for a fact even...

    Basketball Basketball Coaching Openings

Not sure if posted yet...But Coach Woodard is leaving Bell West, riding off into the sunset. I believe that they have an asst coach on staff ready to take over for him. Also Gretna East (new high school next year) has been filled by Cooper Anthony, a Gretna HS asst coach.

I'm hearing he's a shoe in for the MN job. They've been grooming him for a few years for the HC position. He'd be excellent head coach, some even saying he'll be better than Cannon 😉.

How will the teaching shortage effect rural schools?

With a lot of other careers working from home now, teaching as a career has lost its luster. Summers off, 2 weeks for Xmas plus spring break isn't enough to lure people into teaching anymore. Add in low pay, fear of Covid (being around a lot of people), mental health issues in children, plus...

    Football Coaching Changes

You can add Burke and Buena Vista to this list of schools that need coaches. Buena Vista is one of the two new OPS high schools opening in August. And Westview (other new OPS high school) hired Ben Ryan, asst from Burke.
