well, not according to Clemson 14th (I think) who thought the supreme court was just a right wing arm...based on that abortion decision...I'm 100% paraphrasing, because I don't remember the exact words used, but the point is the same....

I guess we like what the courts do when they agree with us and don't like them when they take a position opposite ours...human nature...
No, not really. The Legislative has, for now, completely abdicated its roles and responsibilities under a checks and balances framework. Literally anything the courts do is better than the nothing Congress does.

you can carry the entitlement issue to the complete extreme...housing is a human right, medical care, the same, food, heat.why not go to the full extreme - living where you want (the USA) is a human right....then you get to take advantage of all the other human rights....working for a living? --over rated!!
The lack of understanding human nature and finite resources is beyond my comprehension. That’s one of the most basic things to understand and they have no clue.

This insane line of thinking is only present in leftists. Go to another country on planet earth illegally and demand to be put on entitlements and lemme know how it goes.

Do you understand the impact illegals have on the job market and wage market? This is basic stuff man.

try this, who benefits from cheap, unskilled labor? Other cheap, unskilled laborers or the people that employ them? Your friends backwards immigration policies destroyed the bottom 20% of Americans. But hey, that’s the cost to have a bananas and rice vendor I guess.
WTF are you actually talking about? So your theory is that cheap, unskilled labor lowered the hourly rates for hard working Americans that won't currently take on the vacated roles by said cheap labor? That it? Never pegged you for a pro-worker, wager warrior union guy. In event, you are at least consistent in the flawed logic.

The same courts releasing criminals onto the streets with 50 violent convictions. Right.
Possibly. Not sure if the courts currently trying to keep your orange messiah in check also release criminals, but possibly.

But AGAIN, you speak of the rule of law while ignoring when the administration breaks and bastardizes the rule of law. Fascinating.

Because you have to have a line. Are you serious with this? In your world is any bag of flesh that can swindle his way to our shores entitled to every single thing that a red blooded American is? Last time I checked liberals wanted all these social systems to bring up the lower classes of Americans, not the entire world. You are literally clueless. Your understanding of human nature, economics, and sovereignty is childish at best. This is why redistribution of wealth is so cancerous.
Never said any of that so I question your intellect, but since you're so enlightened, you still didn't answer this question:

between an "illegal" who busts their *** and pays taxes vs lazy ***, un-educated white person who has 5 kids in the trailer park and lives off of the government; who gets or is "entitled" to what?

I am sure this **** makes sense in your head, but know that it does not align when you put it out there. Not talking about human nature or finite resources, understand both quite well. The utopian world you clowns talk about where equally lazy Americans all of a sudden jump up and start shucking corn may exist at some price, but when do we get there? Just forget what that does to the cost of produce, simply answer when these voids are filled. This isn't a market correction in reaction to an arbitrage opportunity, and all indications are that the affected masses aren't running to the fields and orchards to fill these roles, so now what?

I love how it’s a lazy uneducated white person with 5 kids lol, can’t just be an American. Your bias is insanely obvious. That’s wild. But ok. You still need guidelines dumbass. What part of “illegal” is confusing you. How do you reconcile giving taxpayer money from American citizens to illegals. Can you cite one other instance where that’s normal and customary. I’ll hang up and listen.

You clearly aren’t in business or any type of real world economy. Businesses are built to make money, they also have expenses as well, like labor. So employers (especially farmers and construction) want to pay people the lowest wage possible for menial jobs. Now, when there’s a surplus of people that will do a $20/hr job for $12/hr, guess who the employer hires??? It’s magical economics. Are you still in HS? This is the most basic stuff ever.

Loser mentality. Pathetic. You’d rather have 10’s of millions or illegals and convicted criminals on the street. Can’t even call it like it is. Epic TDS. Epic. You do realize that those illegals and released convicts are gonna impact you much more than whatever it is you think Trump did. What a dork.

The claim that “Americans won’t do them” is mostly false in absolute terms; millions of U.S.-born workers do hold these jobs. The more accurate dynamic is that many Americans (especially those with more options) will not do them at the wages, conditions, and intensity that prevail when large numbers of unauthorized workers are available. Evidence points both ways depending on the study and framing:

• Native workers already fill most of these roles. Even in high-unauthorized occupations, U.S.-born people (often less-educated) make up the bulk of employment. Claims of jobs “Americans won’t do” ignore the large native presence and treat preference as absolute rather than relative to alternatives and pay.

• Wages and conditions matter. Unauthorized workers often accept lower pay (sometimes off-books or below what natives demand), longer hours, or riskier conditions due to limited options and deportation risk. This can suppress wages and working standards in those sectors, making the jobs less attractive to natives who have better alternatives, unemployment insurance, or higher reservation wages. Economic theory and some empirical work (including by George Borjas and others) find modest negative wage effects concentrated on prior low-skill immigrants and high-school dropouts/natives without college. Broader reviews (e.g., National Academies) find small average effects overall, with some groups hurt more.

• Complementarity vs. competition. Many economists argue the labor market is not zero-sum: unauthorized workers often take complementary roles (e.g., laborers enabling more supervisory or skilled native work on construction sites), raise demand for goods/services, and keep certain businesses viable. Some studies of enforcement (e.g., Secure Communities) find that reducing unauthorized labor can lower native employment in related roles or raise costs (childcare, food prices, construction). Other evidence and employer behavior show preference for more compliant, lower-cost immigrant labor over natives in certain low-skill settings.

• Real-world tests. After workplace raids or tighter enforcement, some employers report difficulty filling roles at prior wages and may raise pay, automate, or scale back. Temporary legal programs (H-2A for agriculture, H-2B for other seasonal work) exist precisely because farms and some industries claim chronic shortages at prevailing wages; critics note these programs can also undercut native wages. When low-skill immigrant inflows slowed (post-2007), low-skill wages rose in some analyses. Polling shows majorities of voters (across parties, though more so among Democrats) believe immigrants fill jobs citizens don’t want.

In short: Americans do these jobs in large numbers. A continuous supply of workers willing to accept lower compensation and harder conditions shifts the market equilibrium downward, so fewer natives compete for them at those terms. Raising wages/conditions (or reducing the unauthorized supply) changes who shows up. Effects are sector- and skill-specific, not economy-wide catastrophe or pure free lunch; low-skill natives and earlier immigrants face the most direct competition, while capital owners, consumers of cheaper services, and complementary higher-skill workers often gain.

Personally, if one is paying taxes and contributing, I welcome them. It’s that simple. If they’re not, I want them gone…immediately.

Sure but that doesn’t entitle them to taxpayer funded subsidies for our citizens.

If they want free stuff that American citizens are entitled to, they need to go through the process to become a citizen. l.

How do you reconcile giving taxpayer money from American citizens to illegals.
So you still didn't directly answer the question, but your past drivel kind of leads us there. You tend to use "taxpayer" as an descriptor in things, but in our example, the "illegal" IS paying taxes, so they would meet said "taxpayer" requirement. So that's not it. So it is citizenship. You are fine with a lazy American not contributing, being a leech, and living off of other American's tax dollars simply as long as they are an American. This vs an "illegal" who has actually paid into the system. Got it.

Clearly know more about it than you do, my man. Thing is, Americans weren't losing these jobs in the first place. And from a basic economics perspective, there is no reason for the company to pay more that it should, the market sets the rate. But in true MAGA fashion, you advocate for manipulating the market by removing competition. Fascinating on how much the Republican party has changed - anti-business and hurting the heartland of America.

Yep:

"Immigrants make up 26.3% of the U.S. construction workforce—and roughly one in three tradespeople—according to an analysis of Census data by the National Association of Home Builders.

If a contractor loses enough workers to delay a project, the demand for everyone else on that project can fall with them.

There is evidence that this is already happening. New research by economists Chloe East and Elizabeth Cox examining the surge in immigration enforcement in Trump’s second term found that areas experiencing larger increases in ICE arrests saw employment fall among likely undocumented immigrants.

But U.S.-born workers didn’t fill the gap. Instead, they lost ground, too: For every six male undocumented workers pushed out of the labor market, one U.S.-born male worker also lost employment, the researchers found. The damage was worst in construction, where employment among U.S.-born men with a high school degree or less fell 3% after ICE surges.

“Foreign-born and native-born workers complement rather than purely substitute for each other,” Swonk said. “They affect the entire ecosystems of regional economies.”'

look, I'm all for giving work visas for people who come work the fields here....makes total, logical sense to me. But the argument loses a lot of flavor when tallkng about wages and high prices when at the same time we have leaders talking about $30 minimum wages.

JC, there's a difference between immigrants and illegal immigrants...Now I don't know factually, but if there's someone living illegally in the US and we don't know who he/she is or where they are, in my mind is a giant stretch to assume their paying taxes...maybe, but I'm not sure I would if I were here illegally.

You’re not talking about legal immigrants. No one cares about that. You specifically said illegals should get subsidies. That’s your words. Now you back track, per usual, because it’s obvious it’s a pitifully stupid position. In that 26% you cite, you realize that includes:
Naturalized U.S. citizens, Legal permanent residents (green-card holders), Temporary visa holders (H-2B, etc.). You literally are clueless. Just blabbering nonsense AOC and Crockett tell you. What a joke.

don't know about that, but just heard on CNBC that Atlanta FED predicts 5% GDP growth in 3rd qtr and unemployment remains at 4.1%, which is just about "full employment" in economist's terms

Of course, if you're the one laid off, your unemployment rates is 100%
