in reality, at least in my world, there is a definitive need for some of these migrants - both those here legally and those here illegally. Our problem is that we don't have a way to deal with individual cases, our system is "one size fits all". But in reality there is a difference between the migrant who has been here for 10 years, has a job, pays his taxes, raises his family and the migrant who is here living off the American social safety net program.

The Haitian TPS is one example. Some of these folks have become key parts of the food service, healthcare systems and are now being deported. There are not Americans standing in line to take these jobs...sure some of these people should go, but there should be a process for some to stay...
Most rational thing in a while. Now, help get the others to understand it.

Here’s the other thing: there are less than 100k Somali born immigrants in the country, yet y’all want to be laser-focused on that. Less that 1% of the population is trans or non-binary, but let’s make that Darlene’s platform for being a sibling of a deceased senator. Meanwhile, your president is pissing on everything he can to remember himself and he’s doing it with your tax dollars. At the same time, he’s unilaterally engaged in a forever war that costs us money and the country munitions with no way out. The world has turned on us and will engage in trade around us. He has made us militarily, economically, strategically, and perceptionally weaker. But you go worrying about Somali immigrants. Do like you’re told and obey.
You guys ALWAYS do this. Always. It’s just a small number. What do you care. Jesus it’s so played out. Listen if 81% of that 100.000 is on welfare we don’t need them. They have children that are born here that are on welfare and learn that way of living. No one mentioned troons so wtf are you talking about. Biden/Trump are the same person. They both suck. But that doesn’t mean I have to completely ignore nonsense that the left is allowing, incentivizing and encouraging. Just today there’s a story about Californias secret welfare system for illegals. I’m ******* sick of it, if you approve of that then **** You too.

California has built a parallel, mostly state-funded system of benefits available to undocumented immigrants. It includes:

• Full-scope Medi-Cal health coverage (the biggest piece, costing the state roughly $10 billion a year for ~1.6–1.7 million people).

• Cash assistance for some elderly/disabled noncitizens (CAPI).

• Food, housing/rental help, and other aid that often flows through U.S.-born children in mixed-status families.

• College-related aid, subsidized phones in certain programs, and low-cost car insurance open regardless of status.

Rufo and City Journal put the total taxpayer cost at at least $11 billion in the most recent year they examined. They argue this functions as a “shadow welfare system” because federal rules largely block federal dollars for these services, so California pays with its own money.

I’m fine with working contributors, I despise free loading leeches. I don’t discriminate by color, I look at statistics and let the numbers tell me the story. Maybe you should try some objectivity occasionally. All immigrants aren’t good. All Somalis aren’t good. It’s ok to say that. It’s also ok to pick and choose who is allowed here and who needs to be deported. I don’t owe you or anyone else anything, America doesn’t owe African migrants or Haitian refugees anything. Those places suck because the people that live there. It’s that simple.

Immigrants on welfare need to be deported. Immigrants working and paying taxes are welcome. Not a single reasonable person would disagree with that except liberals.
It's a bit oversimplified but I get what you're saying. We are conflating a couple of points, though. Paying taxes does not equate to legal immigrant. So you can have someone here "illegally" that pays taxes. That can happen. While not a liberal, that would have to be hashed out with your more extreme brethren that want ALL illegals gone no matter what.

Not a "you guys" and I am probably one of the more objective non-MAGAs around. I've actually voted Republican far more than Democrat. Can't help that right extremists don't like the obvious things I point out. I despise free loading leeches as well. Completely understand. But you cannot, in good faith, claim objectivity and rational thought based on statistics and ignore the actions of the POTUS. Yeah, Biden and Trump do both suck, but at wildly different levels. Trump IS a leech. And that's not TDS or whatever dumb as **** y'all call it, that is fact. He and his ilk abuse their power to line their pockets by manipulating markets, accepting gifts, etc. You cannot claim to be such a champion of the American people's dollar and not acknowledge what your president is doing at an exponential rate. You cannot claim fraud and waste while not acknowledging fraud and waste simply because it does not fit a narrative. Cannot exist in the same space and time.

Personally, if one is paying taxes and contributing, I welcome them. It’s that simple. If they’re not, I want them gone…immediately. Many on here claim that position means I hate brown people. It’s insanity.

In this country it's very possible to be both a contributor and a taker,... If they're not here legally, they need to leave.
And this is where it gets interesting. I agree with the former and not the latter. Practically speaking, an immigrant is illegal and some point until they are "legal". Also practically speaking, we need those folks to do jobs Americans won't. The former position seems realistic while the latter seems academic or theoretical.

Well the fact illegals are getting taxpayer funded subsidies is a different story. I never thought that would happen yet here we are.

Sure but that doesn’t entitle them to taxpayer funded subsidies for our citizens.

Alright, so let's think that through. You have illegals who are paying taxes - can happen - but they are not entitled to taxpayer funded subsidies bc they are not citizens? So they pay taxes in but don't get the benefit of the taxes they paid in?

Little disingenuous and hyperbolic there. Apparently quite a rift between whatever the amount is someone will do the work for and free. But fine, let's say farm wages get higher and higher until Americans will do the work - now you just skyrocketed food, right? Got to cover those increased costs somewhere and the company isn't going to eat it.

I'm not going to like what? I don't actually GAF what it says because unless it says 100% of a particular population, then someone is painting with too broad of a brush. That's just fact.

Also, I'm not looking up to verify his claims for him.

Of course not,.. Costs a lot of money to live as an American citizen,... Pay people a decent wage and eliminate the welfare state,... I'd rather spend my money directly on the things I need, than hand it to a government middle man who takes his share off the top before playing welfare Santa to the unwashed masses.

Yes. The argument is these folks are here to do jobs we won’t do AND it’s drastically improving their life by being allowed to work here and earn that money. You don’t get to break the law, earn money AND get free stuff. We are already allowing them to be here and work, that is plenty generous. If they want free stuff that American citizens are entitled to, they need to go through the process to become a citizen. This isn’t difficult. You’re over complicating things that are simple. They’re here illegally, by their own choice, they WANT to be here, we all agree on that…they need to work and be grateful.

Cmon man. Say you start paying $100/hr for farm labor. Guess what, now all those farm laborers are upper middle class with plenty of money to buy the more expensive food. People are paid a wage they agree upon, no one is working with a gun to their head, that was the point.

Scrubby is always blaming the countries problems on immigrants. He is a verified racist. It’s obvious.

He’s also a Trump supporter which is synonymous with anti American terrorist

he is an enemy and should be taken out. The country would be better off without him

No one is doing the job at all is the point. We're weaving back into the other guy's theoretical land. Yes, in economics there should be a wage where people do work; practically, no one is going to the golf club talking about how many bushels they picked.

Not over complicating it, simply trying to nail down the baseline. Why are American citizens entitled to free stuff? What if they are lazy ***, trailer park trash who live off of welfare and are non-contributors? Kind of contradicts some prior statements. Let's do it this way: "illegal" who busts their *** and pays taxes vs lazy ***, un-educated white person who has 5 kids in the trailer park and lives off of the government; who gets or is "entitled" to what?

Because you have to have a line. Are you serious with this? In your world is any bag of flesh that can swindle his way to our shores entitled to every single thing that a red blooded American is? Last time I checked liberals wanted all these social systems to bring up the lower classes of Americans, not the entire world. You are literally clueless. Your understanding of human nature, economics, and sovereignty is childish at best. This is why redistribution of wealth is so cancerous.

Do you understand the impact illegals have on the job market and wage market? This is basic stuff man.

try this, who benefits from cheap, unskilled labor? Other cheap, unskilled laborers or the people that employ them? Your friends backwards immigration policies destroyed the bottom 20% of Americans. But hey, that’s the cost to have a bananas and rice vendor I guess.

Large-scale illegal entry is not random or purely humanitarian. It is sustained by a coalition of interests: employers seeking cheaper, more compliant labor; political actors who gain from demographic shifts and expanded client populations; NGOs and bureaucrats whose budgets and influence grow with the flow; and ideological commitments that treat enforcement as illegitimate. The result is de facto open borders in practice (catch-and-release, sanctuary policies, weak interior enforcement, asylum system abuse). This is not accidental chaos—it is the predictable outcome of deliberate non-enforcement plus incentives that reward volume over selection or assimilation.

well, not according to Clemson 14th (I think) who thought the supreme court was just a right wing arm...based on that abortion decision...I'm 100% paraphrasing, because I don't remember the exact words used, but the point is the same....

I guess we like what the courts do when they agree with us and don't like them when they take a position opposite ours...human nature...

I'd wager thought there are lots of the people at the golf club who can tell stories of how they started with nothing in life, worked hard, invested, and now can afford the $1000/month dues.

you can carry the entitlement issue to the complete extreme...housing is a human right, medical care, the same, food, heat.why not go to the full extreme - living where you want (the USA) is a human right....then you get to take advantage of all the other human rights....working for a living? --over rated!!
