Is there any conceivable way to add another guard? We literally have two at the moment.
Mark needs to travel the Earth and make great use of that last roster spot. Hope Morton heals quickly but that doesn't sound very good.
Unlikely you can add another guard until the spring semester starts. It's almost the halfway point of this semester.
The KSR article about this also says Kam is expected to miss at least the pre-season games, which very likely means part of the early regular season as well. Then Noah is out indefinitely as well I believe. Which isn't the major, but he is another body and potential guard.

I’m being dead serious, and I know this sounds bad, but I can’t even seem to care. I feel bad for the kid, but honestly, this isn’t surprising and I can’t conjure up the will to even worry about it. I just don’t have much excitement for this season yet. Hope it comes. Maybe it’s just that I’m more invested in football right now. Not sure.
this is EXACTLY where I'm at. Add in the increased football excitement, and basketball just isn't resonating like it used to...I'm kinda over the mediocrity and can't find the energy to care.
I hope Pope can pull a rabbit out of his hat but this season has the potential to be a disaster. No guard depth, no defense and no rebounding. Heck, Pope can't even fill out his coaching staff. Nobody wants to be a part of this potential disaster on their resume.
Me too. I have the empathy level of Ted Bundy when it comes to UK basketball right now. Too many years of mediocrity and the university just not caring. We let Cal go off the rails and insult the fans and then Mitch hired a youth pastor to lead college basketball's most prestigious program. If UK doesn't care, then why should we?
One has to wonder if it's just bad luck or something to do with training and conditioning. It's starting to look like a trend rather than a random spate of injuries.
Hopefully this is the last year we have to put up with this crap. I hope our new AD already has his feelers out.

I dont understand how we can have so many injuries. We lost Robinson from a practice injury. Lowe was hurt in practice and got sidelined last year. This year Noah and Morton with potential bad injuries.
Then throw in the Kam debacle with his foot and Quaintance. I know Quaintance was coming off a injury but man this does not seem normal in my opinion.
What are we doing in practice for all these injuries to occur and who is doing the evaluations on guys such as KW and JQ.

This negativity is sad. I can't wait for basketball season. You think Kentucky football is going to beat Georgia, Texas. LSU? Florida look tough as well.
Yeah, we gonna be done with injuries because of new AD (don’t look at the basketball HC hiring history of the AD). Last year for injuries, people!!!
The HC puts the roster together. The HC gets the best possible players to fill that roster. The HC makes sure they are prepared for every possible outcome. We haven't even filled out the entire roster. We are begging players to come here so we have to take whoever is available. So, yes that is on the HC. We are no longer a next man up team. We are a please come help us team. It's sad but hopefully it won't be much longer.
Basketball isn't winning anything that matters. So just waiting for the coaching change
We can have 20 guards, doesn't matter if they can't play. We have two guys that can play as of right now. Literally.
