    go to US dermatology in Cedar Park...They told me they want to see me every 3 months for 5 years. Got IBM Medicare United Health Care coverage. Hasn't cost me a penny thus far(hopefully). Your cancer on foot also?

    No, top of left shoulder. Doc dug out so much of the surrounding area that when he stitched it up it tightened up the left side of my face a little. He stepped back, looked at the difference between the two sides of my face and said, “That looks pretty good, maybe we ought to do the right side too.” Comedian.

    How do they test for cancer going forward? do you get a blood test every so often? scans? what am i looking forward to doing going forward? thks

    You should see a dermatologist every six months, most will say for five years, then annually after that. Be extra careful if you have any lesion that changes or grows quickly.

    Medicare has been very comprehensive in coverage of melanoma histories. I was kept on a six month checkup schedule for all 14 years and had no problem with coverage. Normal dermatology coverage is for annual visits.

    No testing necessary, just a doc looking you over every 180 days.
