Before casting stones---in 2005, Mike Teel had a completion % of 50.5% and 2 TD and 10 INTs.
get the QB worked out, little luck... then why the F&$k not ???? might as well be optimistic at this time of year... at least a competitive team.
I would rather get a positive answer to the question “will Rutgers football survive the transfer portal that opens on 4/16 without any big losses?” first.
woudl have 9 wins this year with a halfway decent QB so you put competent QB play in the mix and we do well, very well
March through summer practices everyone is undefeated and has a chance. I guess people are excited because we don’t play the three auto-losses next season.
The only way we have a chance in getting to contend status is if these areas improve dramatically
1: Quarterback play must increase by 40% -50% minimum
2: WR play must improve 50%-60%
3: TE play 100%
4 :O line 35%-45%
5: D stays healthy and develops upfront … will expect a 25%-30 % improvement .
6 : position coaching - play calling - development and a HC who can get us over the hump.
7: solid special teams play 40%-45% ( kicking- tackling - turnover ratio )
8 : staying HEALTHY as possible … never a given …expect the worst and hope for the best… a tough sport.
9: I’m still saying 9-3 with a bowl victory for a final record of 10-3 ( don’t think we reach B1G final this season)
10: there is a distinction between contend and win it all… not this season.

Good to see the eternal opt1mism that some our fans exhibit. Being more of a realist, I'm just hoping for another bowl bid.

How many times over da years we have said "if they had our schedule they wouldn't have won..."
Schedule means everything. now if we only can get QB play of a Champion, like Trent Dilfer in the NFL in 2000.

That’s our only Achilles Heel this season. Other than the current Powell injury..
We can run the ball. We can play good defense. That wins games in any era you play in. But that alone doesn’t win titles.
We contend and then fade.

Let’s try to get to a better bowl this year. I like to be optimistic but I’m very grounded in reality. Contrary to many, I don’t think the schedule is a lot “easier”. If we can get 7 or 8 regular season wins, that would be great.
This could finally be the year @rutgersal finally gets some of his ridiculous predictions correct
Statistically, one of his wild-*** predictions is likely to become true…if you make said prediction over and over and over again. Not sure there’s enough bandwidth for that bloated ego in all of the internet.
1. Need a healthy Monangai.
2. Quick return to form for Powell.
3. A passing game.
Good reasons for optimism for #1 and #2.
#3 not so much.

Good points, but winning football relies on QB play
I know that goes hand in hand with a solid OL, running game and playmakers, but unless Gavin takes a massive step forward on his own, the ceiling is 6-7 wins IMO
His posts may be a little out there, but Al is an awesome guy, with an overzealous passion for RU athletics.
team fades because it lacks depth. Injuries happen to all teams but the team hasn’t had B1G type back ups. Hopefully that changes soon.
Anytime Rutgers doesn't have to play Michigan ,Ohio State and Penn State ,the schedule has to be far easier.
