Is Jonah Jackson dominating competition in the NFL more so than in college? It seems that way. He looked really good last night. I'm assuming those pictures earlier in this thread are of him. That's quite a transformation indeed.
He was All-B1G 1st team as a senior at OSU.
He might have gone higher in draft in another year because 2020 had good QBs and OLs.
He's not seen as dominant (think Wurfs) by his coaches, as much as a solid all around player who is athletic and has a mental feel for what defense is doing. He can also play center.
“Listen, he’s been there and he’s been a steady force for us and he’s physical, he’s tough and he’s a good athlete and he’s a good pass protector, he’s a good run blocker. I mean, I think he’s one of these guys that he’s going to be a staple. I look for him to be a good player, a staple in this league for a long time, hopefully for us for a long time at guard.” - Dan Campbell Lions coach
Jackson says playing next to 1st rounder Penni Sewell helps him. Interestingly Jackson made the Pro Bowl as a first selection but Sewell only made it as a fill-in for an Eagle who dropped out. Jackson was quick to highlight Sewell's young age
"There really is no ceiling for Sewell. He’s 22 years old, man. At 22 years old, I thought I was going to be a state trooper.”
